Illinois Wage and Hour Recordkeeping Requirements

Employers in Illinois must conform with these state rules relating to wage and hour recordkeeping requirements.

In Illinois, employers with four or more employees or covered by a wage order must keep a record of the wages and hours of each employee for three years.

The following basic information must be included in employer records for each employee:

Workers employed at a learner's rate must be designated as such on the employer's payroll, with the learner's occupation shown.
